Biblical Parenting Conference Resources

Last month, Dr. Ted Tripp visited Mars Hill to teach at the Biblical Parenting Conference. Hundreds of people both from Mars Hill and the local community gathered to hear him teach about formative instruction and corrective discipline.

Deborah Erickson, who attended the conference, said that she and her husband “were delighted to hear what was taught and we will apply it to our first child who is due in October. Some of the topics discussed corrected my previous ways of thinking that I’ve applied for so many years when babysitting my friend’s children and my sibling’s children. This material is great for anyone who helps take care of children – aunts, uncles, grandmas, grandpas, nannies, etc.”

For those of you who weren’t able to attend the conference, the video for the first session is posted here at www.theresurgence.com. You can also find the audio from this session here. The rest of the sessions will be posted in the following weeks. You can also purchase a copy of Dr. Tripp’s books Shepherding a Child’s Heart and Instructing a Child’s Heart in the Ballard Bookstore.

Relational debt, housework debt and procrastinated project dread sneak up, drain the life out of me, and leave me feeling discouraged and flat out weak.  Those overwhelming moments reveal my true weakness. Yet too often, I deny it. Blind with ambition, I reach for my bootstraps, pull myself [...]
