Children’s Ministry

Childrens’ Ministry
At the Ballard campus we care a great deal about families and kids. Our Children’s Ministry is an interactive, fun and safe environment where children can learn about Jesus and apply the gospel in a way that is culturally relevant to their lives and development.

MINISTRY AGE GROUPS:

Nursery: 5 months to 1 year
      Toddler 1: 1 year olds
      Toddler 2: 2 year olds
Preschool: 3 and 4 year olds
      Primary: 5-10 year olds

We also have a Nursing Mothers Room within the family foyer, which includes a live monitor showing the sermon and worship service.

First-time Visitors:

If you are new to the Mars Hill Church Ballard Campus, you should plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of the service. The family entrance is located on the east side of the building. There is special parking reserved for families on the east side of the church and in the PATH lot on the west side of the church. On your first visit you will need to fill out a new parent information card, which places your children in our check-in system. You will only need to fill out one form per family and only on your first visit. Our ministry leader will greet you, give you a tour of our Children’s Ministry area, and introduce you and your children to their teachers.

Important

Security is Important to Us:

One of our primary goals for Children’s Ministry is to provide a safe and secure place for children to learn and play. We do that through several measures, all of which are meant to keep our ministry secure and provide peace of mind for parents. We have a nametag system connected to our check-in database. Each child is given a name tag with a number (multiple children in the same family will all have the same number). The parents of those children are given one pager with a corresponding number. When you check your children into their classes, the teacher will verify that each child’s number and nametag match the parent’s pager. When it is time to pick your children up after the service, you must show the pager to the teacher again and they will match it with the nametags.

We also have security guards that watch our Children’s Ministry entrance; no one without a volunteer or staff nametag will be allowed in the Children’s Ministry area during services unless they have a pager. This includes parents whose spouse may already be in the Children’s Ministry area. It is important for the safety of the children that parents who wish to pick their kids up together enter and exit the Children’s Ministry area together with their pager.

We also have a policy that no volunteer will be alone with a child or group of children under any circumstance. There will always be at least two volunteers with a child or classroom at all times – NO EXCEPTIONS.

Finally, all of our volunteers and teachers have gone through an interview and application process, received basic children’s ministry training, and had a national background check to provide added security and safety for your children.

The Generous Campaign: God’s Goodness in Ballard

We serve a loving and gracious God, who loves us so much that he sent his Son, Jesus, to die on a cross for our sins and rise from the grave, conquering Satan, sin, and death (John 3:16). Though we were headed down a path of death and destruction, those who have faith in Jesus [...]
